Company History

- 1989: a group of fruit growers from Verzuolo (Cuneo) set up the agricultural cooperative "Sanifrutta" in Costigliole Saluzzo having two cold rooms and a platform scale available. They aim at marketing considerable amounts of high-quality product.

- 1993: first enlargement. The offices and the first part of the courtyard in front of the warehouse are built.

- 1995: second enlargement. Four cold rooms and a bigger one for finished product storage are built

- 1996: third enlargement. A contiguous warehouse equipped with basket packaging lines is bought

- 1997: Barale Michele Farm (member of the cooperative) puts up a warehouse for apple processing in Falicetto (near Verzuolo), which is rented by the cooperative. It includes:
- bins dumper for fruit unloading in water and grading machine one exit
- waxing machine
- carton labeller
- basket filling machine

- 2003-2004: the major investments take place and six cold rooms in controlled atmosphere, three loading ramps and two anterooms are built. The courtyard on the back of the warehouse to be used for bins storage is enlarged. The old processing lines are replaced by:
- grading machine 15 exits for peaches, nectarines and kiwis.
- packaging area 2 lines (grading machine and flaps), 8 exits and 4 pallettizers.
- packaging line composed of 2 weighing machines, 3 basket filling machines and one pallettizer.

- 2004: Sanifrutta gets the sole right to sell Summer Kiwi variety by -Dal Pane Vivai- prompting business opportunities world-wide.

- 2004: Sanifrutta gets the first EurepGap certification for its plants in Costigliole Saluzzo and in Verzuolo, together with other five Farms of the Cooperative.

- 2005: a new packaging line is bought in Costigliole Saluzzo warehouse. It includes:
- two weighing machines
- three basket filling machines
- final pallettizer and strapping machine

- 2005: great investments in Verzuolo warehouse for a new apple processing line composed of:
- bins dumper system for fruit unloading in water 2 lanes, brushing machines and one packaging line
- weighing machine and bagging machine
- pallettizers
- strapping machine

- 2005/2006: Sanifrutta gets BRC and IFS certifcations as guarantee of its product quality.
